Manager:  Counselling Centre (Grade 16)
Division of Student Support and Development

The Division of Student Support and Development invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.

Main Objectives

The provision of a holistic psychological support service to the students of the University.  The Counselling Centre serves a dual function: firstly, to provide psychological care to students and, secondly, as an accredited internship site for the training of intern psychologists.

The Requirements

Qualified Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA), with approximately 5 years relevant work experience over and above their internship where such experience includes:

  • Previous experience working with adolescents or individuals in early adulthood. The greater diversity of the experience with adolescents the better for example, experience in one-on-one counselling, group counselling and educational work.   Those individuals with specific experience of working with University students will also be at an advantage
  • Previous experience supervising interns with a good track record of having done so
  • At least 3 years’ previous supervision/management experience

Remuneration per annum (Grade 16):

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum:                          R 805 257

Cost to Company per annum (Approximately):             R1 040 825

The University reserves the right not to proceed with the filling of the post.
