Management Accountant (Grade 15)

Finance Division

The Finance Division invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team. 


Main Objectives
To provide cost and management accounting support to the Finance Division and the University to enable and enhance financial control and decision-making by management, through the development of budgets and forecasts, preparation and analysis of management accounts, costing activities and benchmarking, and engagement with stakeholders.

The Requirements

A relevant B. Degree or Diploma (NQF 7) in Accounting, Auditing, or Financial Management  PLUS approximately 6 years of experience in financial and management accounting, where such experience includes: -

  • Budget preparation and variance analysis, including reporting and investigations.
  • Developing product/service/departmental costs within a costing/cost accounting framework.
  • Applying financial and cost accounting principles in the development and control of costs.
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially in MS Excel, and experience with ERP systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with and maintaining the general ledger structure.
  • At least 3 years of Supervisory or Management of staff.
  • Experience in a Higher Education environment will be an advantage.

  • The selection process that will be followed for this post will include an assessment and/or presentation and an interview.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 15):

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum:                          R731 917

Cost to Company per annum (Approximately):             R952 211
